To bling or not to bling that is the ?
OK, So mega thanks to a local lister who made me a deal on a brand new set of polished speedlines.
Always wondered how they would look on cobalt. The car is a bit loud to begin with and was afraid they would be too much. Now that I see them next to the car i am not so sure. Might be nice but can' t tell. Need opinions.
BTW being brand new the fronts have the large case "I" and the rears the lower case. Not sure why that worked out that way. Also if you can tell the bolts have a bluish cast to them unlike the others I have seen. I also think that these are not clear coated. The finish is reminiscent of the polished 993Turbo S twist wheels. Almost a clear with a slight silver color in it. I was told the factory was the only place that can properly refinish the turbo S wheels I am assuming this holds true for the centers of these too.

I have to say I prefer the painted look - polished they look just a little too bling for my (European) taste. However, even polished, there is no better looking wheel for a 965...
You are a lucky man Anthony!

I like the painted, but either way is nice.
FYI, the 993 TTS wheels are painted, and they can be refinished. I didn't know this a couple of years ago, but the place I take my cars, Protosport in NJ, says that it can be done and they've had success. There is RLer, Steve, who used to buy and sell TTSs who had it done with success I think.

What about the center caps, can you order them to match? I think they would look cool, it's all a matter of taste, nice wheels

No rush I have all winter to decide. Where did the weather go, I am not ready for snow yet. I believe the center caps can be ordered to match. No doubt expensive but if your going to do it no sense in doing it half way.

On the other it destroys their value. What good are speedlines with cobalt painted centers when there is only one other cobalt turbo in the US. I would be hard pressed to sell them if I had to. So it is either factory painted or factory polished.
Life is tough.
