Well, I'm no expert but AFAIK they were indeed purchased by another company who makes totally different wheels from what Kinesis used to make. The Kinesis wheels that will be looking for (Kinesis supercup) hasn't been available for years. Kinesis were working on a second generation Supercup II wheel (Deep reversed lip) just before they were bought . Dunno about availability for spare parts though but I did hear, just as you said they they are (were?) a pleasure to deal with.

There are some others I know of (it's a 1 piece wheel though), the first is keskin http://www.tunershop.de/felgen/felgen/keskin-kt2.html and the 2nd from veloce wheels
http://www.velocewheels.com/veloce36/
I've got the keskins for a few months now, no idea about their condition in a few years time...
Way more affordable than speedlines (for me)
cheers, Paul

My keskins are now 3 years old and driven often in wet conditions. There are slight oxidation marks visible around the "bolts" when looking real close, but it's nothing major yet.

Has anyone else ran original speedlines sans clearcoat? Similar experiences? I really want to keep the polished bling look you cant achieve with clearcoat.

These used to be my favourite although he doesn't do them for Porsche anymore.

I refurbed the original speedlines and lacquered the rims prior to assembly. The car went into storage whilst we gutted the house and built a decent garage. Net result was corrosion on the rims around the bolts. To say I was a little pi**ed is an understatement especially as it was a proper storage facilty. So they were refurbed again. But this time no lacquer. At least this way you can polish them if needed. Once you have the white under the lacquer you cannot get to it. My GT2 speedlines are original and very very good but some of the bolts have corrosion around them. Maybe christmas time I'll attempt to sort this out. Bolt by bolt, polish out and re lacquer. What a pain in the ar*e. I've bought a set of aluminium centred BBS wheels for use most of the time. Had the centres painted to match the car and the rims anodised. They look OK but the anodising looks cr*p even though they were highly polished first but at least they should not corrode. Funnily enough I stuck them on the car this morning.

Pissed myself again... Yum Yum. My bbs rims look good anodised but it took the guy a lot of polishing before hand, to the point he said he would never do it again...
