If we were wrong that car is worth over 100K so someone obviously wanted a 964 turbo cab real or not.

I was always in the impression that ( certainly with porsche ) what the client wanted and was willing to pay for, porsche would make ...

I have seen some rare request regarding interior etc ... but making a cabrio just for 1 person seems 'strange' ... Nevertehless, i think the car just looks great :-)

The car is a fake. Porsche would never convert a coupe to a cab and leave in the rear window wiper switch. Not sure why a dealer would ever represent it as otherwise. Seems they would lose their license or get sued ... Also as others have pointed out, I have several certificates of authenticity and that is not what they look like.

[QUOTE=YYC930;4658945I said send me the underhood sticker photos, door jamb VIN plaque photos and documentation regarding the car that was previously asked for.[/QUOTE]

Victory Motorcars posts pictures of your first two requests, though I had a hard time reading them.... Interesting that Victory started the bidding at $5K on eBay. They can't be serious? I love the quote, "BUILT FOR A PORSCHE CLIENT, WE ARE TOLD THAT THIS 1991 CABRIOLET WAS ONE OF FOUR TURBO CABS PRODUCED. IT IS AN EXCEPTIONAL AND RARE EXAMPLE OF THE AIR-COOLED WIDE BODY PORSCHE."

Does anyone else see duality in that statement? Nowhere does it say who built it....

Go to page 1 of this thread where I already dissected the build code and VIN. It is a turbo coupe VIN and build code. PAG built four of these for the UK....but none for NA.

Well, it's still listed in their inventory but, it has disappeared from eBay. Some lucky dog no doubt snatched it up!?

I sent them an ebay 'ask seller a question' and challenged the cars authenticity. That was last night. Now the car is taken off ebay? Must have been worried about repercussions from ebay if they got reported.

Well I guess it just goes to show that ebay gets its fees from the seller not the buyer ...

The issue is VMC wont give a flying fart if its real or not as long as they can dump it on some sucker via their usual business practices. If they can reel in a whale with that phony COA and sell it for top dollar thats all they're interested in. They have and easy out too, blame it all on the guy they bought it from, since he dummied up that COA. I wonder if they're looking for some nice slightly used service records from a number of old 911's I owned? I may have to put them in a binder and get them on eBay.

Got this reply to my ebay inquiry .. to their credit they pulled it off of ebay until they sort it out .. have not looked to see if they changed their website text or not .. (ps. the spelling typos are theirs not mine I did a cut and paste).

Dear flachbau,

Hello in responce to your email we may have been ripped off when we purchased the turbo iam in the process of talking to Porsche to see if they were commissoned to build this car I was a Porsche dealer in the late 80s and in fact you can walk into the the Factory Porsche center Germany and have them build anything you can pay for so untill we sort it out i removed it from ebay.
Robert
