None AFAIK.
I was the sales manager at the local dealer during this time.
There was a 964 turbo-look cabriolet (America Roadster) but no factory 965 turbo cabriolet was built anywhere according to my info and that which I found online. Adrian, our resident expert, might know more........
I ran the VIN for this car at the dealer and it came up as a model code 964770 which is the model code for a 965 turbo coupe.
Also, if it was a turbo cabriolet the 5th digit of the VIN would be a C. The 4th and 5th digits are AA....which translates to turbo coupe. If it was a turbo cabrio it would be AC.....or CB.
Something does not add up IMHO. This car has been listed before a few times IIRC........ FWIW.......I also place little stock in those certificates of authenticity that Porsche sells for $100 apiece..............

Burning Brakes
There were a few special wishes cars built (as there were 993 turbo cabs, although they had the 965 3.6 engines with single turbo). There was a 965 cab for sale a couple of years ago in the UK.
As always with Porsche, if you have enough money Porsche will oblige...

I don't know. The seller can't spell.
Something's not quite right. I would need to do a very detailed inspection of this car, with a Porsche mechanic. I can make a Certificate of Authenticity using a nice printer.
This bit is cheesy too -
INVESTORS, THIS CAR WILL SALE AT LEAST TWISE THE RESERVE PRICE IN BARRETT-JACKSON COLLECTOR CAR AUCTION . UNFURTENTLY I HAVE TO LEAVE THE STATES FOR AWHILE . MY LOSS YOUR GAIN .

Geez............I just looked at my dealer printout "again" and the Porsche certificate the guy has in the ad.......it says option code 650 - electric sunroof..........don't know how I missed that earlier. I bet the certificate is a fake.
This is probably a parts car.....I mean, if it was "real" it would have cost a small fortune (the 14 hand built 993 turbo cabs were twice the cost of regular turbo coupe) and therefore it would not be all tarted up with cheesy Antera wheels and aftermarket aluminium interior bits. Some collector would own it in all likelyhood if it was real and for sale.
I am going to ask the vendor a few questions and will post his reply here.

PTurbo965, I agree that part at the end seemed a little to "pushy". Kinda the pitch you'd get from a "stereotypical" used car salesman. No offense to those above board salesman.

I like this line "the Vin number is being updated . it takes few days before it will take effect to match the Certificate of Authenticity ." LOL, his printer must have ran out of ink. I agree with the spelling......out of control!!

LOL...........I ran the VIN direct from the certificate. I wonder how he will explain the sunroof on there.
I also asked for a picture of the underhood sticker, the original bill of sale and Special Wishes documentation
He has not answered my questions yet.

Also, the 911 Turbo coupe was already MSRP $98K+ (see link above), why would the cabriolet sell for the same price.

This isnt even a good fake. That cert is a JOKE. How dumb can the guy be leaving the sunroof option on the cert.
How do we keep someone from getting ripped off by this huckster?

I sent him another message as there is no reply to my earlier questions, stating that if he does not amend his listing, or satisfactorily answer the questions with valid evidence, I will report him to E-Bay for fraudulent listing.
Let's see what he says.

He responded to me when i e mailed him on E Bay and told me if i was trying to say it was a fake i needed to keep my opionions to myself. I told him I was trying to say nothing . If it was a 91 turbo cab. it would be worth a small fortune as porsche says none were made, and I would be interested. Also I told him I thought The letter of auth. with a elect. sun roof on a cab. looked odd.
