Sounds like a good combo. I'll take one!

Hope you don't mind me turning up and playing, as the 965 is one of two of my fave Porsches (the other's in my garage )

Mine'd have to be a 94 TurboS Flatnose, LHD as I'd use it predominantly for cross-continental road-trips, in my favourite color combo - Arctic with CanCan, and contrasting black leather on all the *****, speakers etc... combined with polished Speedlines... yum!

Hell, if I found a Flatnose in the UK it'd be a real struggle to choose between my 993 and that... but back in the day, well I was 15 and permanently in detention!

I am surprised that so many people here (with standard 964 turbos) pick the flatnose over the same car without a flatnose. To me, a traditionalist, the flatnose looks like a 968 and loses far too much of the traditional Porsche look. Same for the 3.2 slantnose in my opinion. If I can get the same perforamnce with the traditonal look, I'll not only take it, but pay up for it. Hence, the 1994 964 Turbo S with the upright headlights, to me, it the best of all worlds in the 964 universe.

+ 1 on the non-flatnose S. I would like the vents ect on the US package cars like the red one above though. Colour wise , happy to stick with horizon Blue.

Agree that the flatnoses just look wrong. Don't you both think the 3.3S is more desirable than the 3.6S as it's more "hardcore"?

Default flatnose defender to the rescue

ah, the flatnose debate. well first, having owned several 965 turbos, standard, etc. i will say performance wise, there is very little notable difference between the regular and a flatnose. the flatnose though is a different breed. from a collectibility perspective, there is NO comparison. none. the 964 turbo, non-s, sells for 65 to 90k. the flatnoses if you can find one of the 22 for sale go for approximately twice that. the collectibility factor is what gives rise to the dollar issue, the rarity.

now, the aesthetics is a different issue. the 965 in good condition is a 10 in my book. turbo. the flatnose Turbo S is an 11. the wheels are full polished, centers and outers. the sducts are super nice on that car. and the flatnose is very hot looking. some dont like it, but i own3 and i can tell you, its very very nice.

Take a look at the photo, and tellm ei fyou dont think that that is one stunning car. ...

Yeah, I went to check out that Pearl white car at Sloan's before Don bought it. I just am not into that look at all. As far as the performance and rarity goes, I think that the non-flatnose S cars are rarer than the flatnoses, and have the same exact performance. Different strokes for different folks, as they say.

Its the rear vents that I love. The front is not so important but I do like the flatnose as well as normal lights.
And yes Tim, you know me, hardcore is good! But daily drive hardcore not RS (track) hardcore.
I haven't driven either but suspect in standard form the 3.3S would be my preference.
...but there again, my own 3.3 is approaching perfection

I like the flatnose.........and would have no issue with owning one........but when driving I prefer the forward view thru the glass of the upright fenders.

spg993TT.......

I haven't won the lottery yet...........so your pearl white car is safe.

Tim, works in progress. The HFS couriered to Bob after customs delays. Car probably won't be back until next week. You can be sure I'll post a thread once I've tried it all out!
