Are you guys only looking for US numbers?

The controversy appears to be over 91 US spec turbos specifically. There were either 674 or 1992 US spec cars which is quite a variation. I think trying to compile a potential 5000+ vin #'s for all 91-92 turbos is going to be too much work. Primarily, if anyone has a US 91 with a vin # over 674 and would care to share that would answer many questions.

OK!, I'm "Mickey the Dunce" on this one. Exactly what set of numbers on the VIN will give me the serial number? Are they the last numbers listed?

Once I have the answer, I'll check out my "92" and it can be added to that list.

Yes the last numbers starting in 48xxxxx the last 3 will be enough. maybe we need to start a stick thread at the top and allow people to add to it over time.

+1 on the sticky idea, just like the purchase one in the 964 Forum.

Does anyone know how to do this or do we need a moderator to do it?

I just looked at the post topic section, and I think we need a mod to do it.

My "92" Turbo is #263.
If the "92" U.S. production number is 287 or 309, that puts it near the end of production run for that model. If in fact that is how the numbering system works!

The other 964 Turbo folks aren't likely to pick up on this thread, given it's title. (89 930 vs 964 Turbo).
The idea of making this a "Sticky" with a new title such as "Please Provide your 964 Turbo Serial Number for a Registry and Tracking Chart", or something like that, will be the only way to really get other's attention and participation.
