Default 964 3.6 turbo upgrade

Well I have just returned from a trip to France and Italy in the 3.6 but unfortunately the 3.6 is still in France. The first day involved a trip of around 500 miles to get to the chateau that we were all staying at. I noticed about 100 miles from our destination that the Porsche was only making about 0.3 bar of boost.
To cut a very long story short, about 20 miles from where we were staying was a Porsche main dealer. They very kindly agreed to look at the Porsche as soon as I got their. The long and the short of it is that it has munched its impeller on the inlet side.
So once the RAC european recovery service have returned the car to me back in England my question is do I get the standard turbocharger rebuilt or do I go with an alternative. I do not want to effect the driveability but it would be nice to have the turbo spool up quicker and make good power throughout the whole rev range.
Your thoughts would be greatfully appreciated. regards, Graeme.
p.s. the Citroen C5 diesel I was given with a lot of hard work just about managed to keep pace with the two Lamborghini Mucielago's, two Ferrari Testarossa's one is an M and a 996 GT2. After all how fast can you go without getting into to much trouble. I got two speeding tickets in the first 500 miles.

I bought a K27HFS. It is a custom turbo that will make more bhp without adding lag. More expensive than the stock part though obviously. Capable of over 500bhp.

Hey Graeme, shame about the breakdown on that trip. I would go for a HF version as well.

Everyone knows that hire/courtesy cars are equipped with special race prepped engines compared to privately owned versions

thanks guys I'll speak to imagine auto.
Do you know if there are any other mods required to fit the HFS style unit, for example to the pipework etc ?. I guess I ought to buy a new 1 bar waste gate spring as well ?.
regards,
Graeme

Graeme, the HFS will be a direct bolt on. However, please make sure that your Bypass valve is in good working order. Make sure that the techs clean your intercooler. Or you risk tearing up another turbocharger. With the HFS it is Not recommended to install a 1 bar spring..

HFS all the way; don't have to worry about your turbo running out of breath at 6k rpms

Hi Kevin,
are you recommending staying with the 0.95 bar waste gate spring that has already been fitted or revert to the standard 0.8 bar ?,
thanks Graeme

I would start at .7, check your AFR's, and then possibly increase boost. My car is running 12.0001-1 AFR on the dynapaks at 6500 RPM's with a .9 bar spring. But you should check your AFR's before increasing boost or you might lean out the car.

Air Fuel Ratio. Do you have a wideband sensor, like the LM-1? Or access to a shop with a dyno?

For a "stock" car with "stock" heat exchangers stay with the factory wastegate spring.

thanks Kevin and Drew. The car is pretty much stock apart from the 0.95 bar waste gate spring, Rook modified timing pickup sensor and a Zukspeed air filter assembly. I might look at fitting a different exhaust system as I have a feeling mine might have a crack in it. It sounds like the sensible thing to do is go and buy a brand new genuine Porsche waste gate spring. I have just had a look through the original hard back 911 3.6 turbo brochure and it states that at maximum load pressure it achieves 0.9 bar ?.

Tial Wastegate is the first mod you should do. Stephen Kaspar @ Imagine Auto.
