I was up at the shop last night to pick up my C2 and his car was gone. IIRC he is on his way to RI for the Zone 1 Concours.

I will have some final pictures shorlty. I did not go to zone 1 concours since the car needs signifcant break in.

Anthony, I think John may have been out logging miles when you went to pick up your C2.

Bummer,

Don't want to kill the fun for Craig but I know first hand the smile may never leave his face.

I am sure he will. I saw the car last Thursday at Protosport just before he picked it up and later that day I saw him driving down route 3 sitting in about 8 miles of traffic going the opposite way. I could tell he wasn't happy. They did a fabulous job making everything perfect. Everything all Zinc dichromated and powder coated.

I will let him tell you the rest but they even surpassed their own expectations as engine builders. I am sure it is not for the faint of heart.

Beautiful build! So what does flame ringing do for the engine? Does it keep the head and cylinder alligned better than just the studs?

The car is amazing. By far the fastest car I have ever driven. Makes my 02 and 03 996TT's (one protomotive and one with evo mods) feel slow. I will post some final pics this evening. The final product is beyond my expectations. The car at idle sounds like a camed up big block V8. Plus it pulls super hard all the way to 7500 RPM now. To give you an idea of the power the other night my 965 had 10 car lengths on a modified 996 GT2 from a 30 MPH start.

Jim, the flame rings are so that under higher boost levels the combustion flame does not creep down the cylinder wall. Low boost runs at 1 bar snd high boost right now is 1.25 bar. But it will run 1.4 easy.

Wow a 10 car length pull in 35 mph increase over a GT2. I am sure you kept it within the speed limit knowing who was probably driving the GT2. I am assuming this is the heavily modified GT2. I know Paul and John were impressed with themselves. So must make my somewhat stock 3.6 feel like a 356 in comparison.

John was driving my car and Mike was driving the GT2 (protomotive 18G car). Neither of them are bashful. I understand my headers were glowing red.

The most difficult thing to get used to is not shifting until deep into 7000+ RPM range. Power comes on at about 3300 RPM and just pulls like a mad until 7500. The sound the engine makes is truly amazing. John designed the engine to run up to 8000 if the need is there.

I will be at Ray Catena on Sunday for the PCA concours workshop if anyone wants to see the engine in person.

I am going on Arrwin's fun run on Sunday. Guess I will have to wait until the Summit PC concours.
