About light flywheel in 930 89.
Hello all!
I return with a new idea...
I friend of mine has a 930 89 ( G50/50 with 5 speeds) and he had broke his rubbered clutch, so he wants to fix a spring centered version.
The problem is that here in spain nobody Knows this version of Sachs (spring centered version), so Sachs (in spain) only give him the solution of mounting again a rubbered version.
Looking in internet (in the FVD page item FVD 116 907), I found a kit "Sport clutch kit sport 965 with light flywheel", and I (i have a 965) and my friend we think that it could fix in a 930 89. The reason that we Think that this kit will be fix in the 930 is this:
the 965 has the same gearbox than the 930/89, (G50/52 vs G50/50) the only thing that is different is the slip differencial.
Anybody knows if this kit will fix in the 930/89 ?
Any suggeston will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Bye!

To just do the clutch plate, all you really have to do is get one, confirm the diameter, measure the thickness of the friction part, make sure the splines are the same and surely that should be that ?
I think I would start with the 3.0 930 disc. Hopefully someone that knows will help you out.

Geoffrey confirms...

Thank you nathanUK '81 930 G50! (and Thaks too to Geoffrey, of corse!)
I will tell it to my friend.
Hi 911adict!!!
Yes, I see you ALL DAYS, but Basically i read, and read, and read....In Spain the 965 is one great stranger, and thanks to this forum for me it is less.
I have done A LOT OF MODS in my car, following your advices.
My car has now the follows mods:
-Eibach RS springs
-Koni fully adjustable struts (yellow one)
-KN air filter
-Replica speedline 18 rims (8.5, 10)
-S02 bridgestone wheels (225/40, 265/35)
-1 bar spring
-cat bypass from GHL
-tips by fabspeed
-Wastegate bypass from Scart (it is totally open, no cat, no silencer). It is like a harrier when it is open.
-Headers from GSF
And the minor changes are:
-turbo 3.6 odometer surface (until 320 km/h)
-turbo 3.6 script (yes, I know it is a fake, but here in Spain I never seen one...and I like!!)
-Steering wheel by Atiwe (365 mm, model Lemans with airbag, all black leather)
-white blinkers
-New OEM floor mats
The last mod was Headers....how!!!! It is a MUST. I was run with 1 bar, cat bypass and the other mods (but without the headers), and the car was incredible, but a little laggy.
Now, I begin to spool at 1800 rpm!!! yes, 1800 rpm!! The car feels very well in no-boost action, and reaches 1 bar in a moment.
The bad thing is cosmetic reasons... In a rear view, the headers (with heat exchangers) is veryyy low, so the new look is rare (a lot of tubes below the car).
It is another car. Put a header in your life!
A pictures (note, this pictures is without the headers and the new steering wheel)
This week, I will do a new pictures and I will show you.
Bye rennlisters, and by 911adict!!
