Default Sway bars

To my fellow rennlisters and club racers,

Do you all know of any sway bars that were made and are available for our 91-94 turbo cars? I believe upgrading the rear is more important, but any info would be great!

Drew

p.s. I will have cat by pass pipe available if anyone is interested.

I had mine changed to a 993 TT front , and 964 RS behind. The steering seems sharper and more response than before !

Thanks for the input. Someone from Rennsport emailed me and informed me of these opitons: leave it or change the control arms to a 964 rs and put bigger custom wheels on the car. This gent also told me that there was one made by AJUSA and was discontinued.

The RS arms are similar to ROW 3.6 with bushes placed in the right angle for the lower ride height. But rare and expensive.

I have a set of 3.6 Rear arms somewhere...

There is a post on this forum by Speednme he installed the AJusa sways. I just ordered a set last week and should have them soon. I will have a spare rear Motorsport bar for our cars once I install these. The AJusa set is similar to the TRG set although TRG does not have the drop links and are more expensive. They claim that although their bars are the same 25/22mm as other makes they use a better steel making theirs stiffer. I have no idea if that is true or not.

Meanwhile AJusa has new sets in stock and total for front and rear including shipping I believe came to about $600 this included all drop links and plastic bushings.

Cobalt,

I've got the same springs(H&R)/shocks (bilstein HD) as you and was considering upgrading the sway bars. I'm mainly street with track maybe once a year. Are you happy with the AJ USA setup 25/22?

If anyone else has any input, please let me know.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, the deal fell through. After I posted this they sent me a message saying they no longer had a complete kit for the front bar and would not sell me the bar.

I have not had a chance to follow through since most of my focus has been on setting up my track car. Although this is still an open project that i plan on having it done this winter. Will keep you posted if there any changes.

Sway bars for our cars are available from Porsche Motorsports. The front requires different drop links; the rear bar uses the existing drop links. Staffan is currently doing some research on this topic; maybe he can chime in here?

I just checked H&R's site and they have bars listed for our cars. I can give you the part number, if needed, for the front drop links.

Could be. I believe the technical name is anti roll bar.

So would that be the front strut brace in the front boot area?

I'm going to have someone doing calculations on a setup for me.
It will most probably mean other spring rates compared to what I have today (progressive cup springs 600/800) and the sway bar dimensions are also unknow for me at the moment.

As Drew mentions the front RSR Porsche Motorsports sway bars (24mm I think) are available at a <caugh> cost. Also heard that HR have sway bars for our cars, don't remember the dimensions.

I'm looking at an alternative for the rear, I will get back as soon as I have some useful information.

You will need a special front drop link for the front bar. Let me know if you want the part number.
