New Wastegate Bypass Fitted
I've finally had my wastegate pipe fitted.
Its custom made by Hayward and Scott and is a direct replacement for the factory mini-cat and fits perfectly with the rear tailpipe. Good quality.
My first garage quoted me, wait for it, £400 just to fit it as the existing studs were decrepit. My second garage fitted it for £30! (Guess who I will be using in the future.)
From inside the car it sounds subtle, more like an older 911 in high revs, you know that buzz-saw sound. From outside (took a quick vid) it HOWLS! I'm looking forward to running though a few tunnels..
Does anyone know whether the w/g pipe (without mini cat) adds anything to the power or reduces lag? It sure feels good.
PS: When I take some better videos will post a link here.

I'm looking forward to see some pictures of the installation (both wastegate and mufflers).

I don't mind saying the first garage was JZM. They also quoted me loads more for my aircon rebuild. Just way too expensive.
My second garage was Coolit in Dorset. They did my aircon rebuild. I left it with them for 2 weeks. They did a few extra small jobs too, inc. w/g. Highly recommended. Talked to another garage local to me (Uxbridge) they also said they wouldn't charge that much for removing seized studs.
For callipers, I used Daytona in Stevenage, top job.
PS: NO affiliation to any of the above.

Great thanks for the tips, I will look up Daytona as Coolit a bit far for me.
Definitely would like to see some pics, glad your car is running better than ever (by the sounds of it!)

I wouldn't expect any noticable increase in power but a good flow will minimize boost creep.

I'm with Steffan on the no power gains, being free flowing has got to be good though. Anyway now it sounds right which is the main thing, it took long enough to convince you
