Sorry I haven't posted any pics or vids of my wastegate bypass. I have taken a couple and will put up the links shortly. I had hoped to get some better ones BUT things have changed a little..... see my new thread "Triple Bypass- Sounds Serious"

As requested here is a pic of the wastgate bypass:
Even though I have a nice double bypass of Cat and silencer, the wastegate bypass is the predominant sound when on hard boost- its absolutely spine-tingling!

Yeah, the turbo "chops the soundwaves" (<caugh> or something), the wastegate side is straight from the engine.
I have a stock wastegate pipe and that pipe is where the peak of sound volume is coming from eventhough I have a straight pipe from the turbo. I run the car on the track and have removed one part after the other with more or less the same peak level of sound level at each stage. Perhaps it has increased 1-2 db, but no more. We have a strict 95db limit, so far they haven't pulled me off the track.
I found that the shape of the wastegate pipe makes all the difference sound wise, the catalytic stuff makes no or very little difference. You can try by removing the endpipe of a stock wastegate pipe and you will find that you can make children cry and set off car alarms when you are on full boost, sort of.
Most effective exhaust on a turbo car is a megaphone pipe straight from the turbo, same thing on the wastegate side, but of course also the loudest configuration.

Here is my set up. B&B headers, no cats, Tech Art muffler. I will try to get some video this weekend and post it. It sounds wonderful and if you drive it around town off boost itis quite tame. Stick youre foot in it and it howls like a banshee It does pop off throttle, more so in 4th and 3rd.

maverick,
I am currently thinking of getting the B&B Headers for my 3.6. What sort of noticable differences did it make to the way your car drives from stock?
Cheers.

Thanks Burman, the rims are 18"Porsche speed design. I know they came out in 2002.
turbo 3.6 since I also added a light weight flywheel and clutch at the same time so the change was dramatic. It removes about 26" from the flow stream so the turbo response is quicker. The sound is amazing! I have not had ant issues with it being to noisy in the car or any resonance issues. I have also upgraded to a K27HF turbo and the turbine spooling is a significant part of the sound from outside......so my son tells me!
