In January 2005, I posted a couple of pictures of the S2 in a thread called: 1992 Turbo S2 compared with 1994 3.6 T. I don't know how to tell you to find it, or how to move those pictures here.

Might the S2 be the very similar to the 3.3 S which as you probably know is a 3.3 and I think had 380bhp. There was one sold in Uk recently for around £60K. here's a link with pics: http://www.gmundcars.com/cars/541/964turbos.html

Looks nice doesn't it?

The euro 92 S is a different car. It was a light weight car that can not be made street legal in the US. The S2 was a stock 92 that was delivered to Andial In California and converted to improve performance to I believe about 350 hp. It was only engine improvements unlike the euro S that had bigger brakes, 18" Speedlines, Light weight glass seats and other changes. You can read more about it in Adrian's book on 964's.

I hope I am staying within the intent and interests of this thread by asking if anyone has any data on the downforce generated by the changes in front and rear spoilers?

I am reluctant to add a new tail, producing more downforce, without making a compensating adjustment at the front. It may make no difference on the street, but I want the car balanced on the track.

If i remember correctly, this 3.6 had a lot of Andial items added by the PO. You are going to have an awesome ride. BTW, are you jumping from the F-car or adding on?

Jeffrey, your question is a good one. I just added this wing, but haven't run it yet on a high speed track. The only track I've run this on has no turn at over 95mph. Before I take it to a high speed track (such as Road America) I am definitely considering splitters for the front.

Having paid a lot of attention to this issue on my prior race car (a 73 911 RS replica), I mounted a front air dam which is what Porsche did to balance the whale tail. Then, one day I broke the air dam on a curb, and removed it. Later in 2001, on a fast track (Texas World Speedway), my co-driver turned a 1:56.0, which was then and 6 years later still is a track record lap for an E class car. Without the air dam. And I ran at a very fast track Texas Motor Speedway, the NASCAR track north of Fort Worth, without the air dam.

I never could tell the difference. Maybe I was just inattentive to the effects, but I decided not to bother to buy another air dam (too much hassle getting the car on and off the trailer).

Looking at splitters on other 964's today, I was considering that same equation.

Clint, I'm a collector of useless images, believe it or not I've also got a picture of your clutch from when I saw it out of the car in Auckland!

Too right, and preferably in my car.

Close to five-years ownership has led to a lot of turbo photos on the hard drive.....more than I have of the kids!

I must explain the clutch though. Clint's car's previous owner had the engine resealed and I visited to see it in pieces. Just rediscovered the photos when I installed Picasa.

Kimo, thanks, yes adding on. I used to have boosted cars and miss the wild thrill!! The car is getting a bunch of IA go fast stuff as we speak.

Its refreshing to hear that others have this same situation of car pics outweighing family pics. I thought I was the only one.

Jeff, I too would like to know that. For sure within the scope of the thread. Anybody have reference to the stats? The front splitters aren't very big but I guess it does not take much, ie the small wing adjustments they make in the F1 one pits.

I tend to snap of pics of stuff like that as well, particually with my phone, just because it is so handy and because you can ;-)

I Look forward to catching up with you some day at a PCNZ event or something when you are back in NZ.

One of the most impressive cars ever, imo, and a "raw" cf inspiration.
Where is that picture taken? is it a private collection or a dealer? Those are three of the nicest cars in the world.
