Curious what this car is worth (no price is posted) and what the background on these seemingly rare cars? Also this car looks familiar...perhaps was on e-Bay?
FYI, this is the same dealer that had the white '91 Turbo that I walked away from last year. The site says that car went to Arizona. Has anybody seen it? The car is still shown on the dealer's site (as "Sold").

Nothing if you ask me.
Assuming it is a 92 it is a conversion. I don't know what they are refering too when they say 1 of 20. There were 20 Andial built S2's built in 92 but they were not slope nose (Flachbau's) I have seen many turbo S Package car creations out there. Owners want their car to look unique so they add the Turbo S ducts and some other touches to make it look unique but not many are converted to the slope nose look.
If you like the Flachbau look this may be the car for you assuming it sells for about $40k or so. You will have a unique looking car but not an authentic turbo S.

Check the title for salvage. I see he offers up a Carfax, but that is not the last word. Very seldom do you see someone do such extensive bodywork without a reason. Assuming it is not a real Flachbau (I never knew a non-gray market 3.3 to exist) basically all the body panels have been replaced with the exception of the doors, and roof. Those wheels look like Racing Dynamics (popular in the mid-ninety's). The sport seats are nice.

What I undrstand is that there were no turbo slant noses built in 1992. Beyond that, there were only 80 Turbo S, 3.3, made in 92 .
The above car looks very interesting, allthough those wheels would go immediately, but I concur it is a conversion ( that is where the mod virus ccan take you...LOL)
Cheers

It indicates 24K miles but the picture of the engine doesnt seem to concur. It has a new A/C compressor and the top of the intercooler and the fan look significantly more "used" than 24K.

I like it. It is probably a conversion, but from this distance it looks good. Wheels are easy to change.
I would be more enthusiastic if the 1 out of 20 was explained - the way it is written now, it appears misleading or worse, outright wrong. I would also like them to list VIN and price just to show they are above the board.

I just got off the phone with the dealer. The conversion was done at the Dealer with "permission" from Porsche. The dealer says that he has the paperwork to prove that Porsche OK'd the conversion. The price is 94,800.

What does permission from Porsche mean?

Unless it was sent back to the factory and reworked by the exclusive department it is still a conversion and to price it close to what some actual 94 S's have sold for is ludicrous. If it used all factory parts and was done properly $65K tops. Otherwise hold out and buy the real thing.

Wow!!! $94.8K Gulp... I think $70K is closer to market correct, but we'll see.
Did the dealer explain the 1 in 20? Unless he has some Porsche stats to back up that number, it appears to be an intentional misrepresentation of the car's pedigree.
