So Tiff was correct when he said 0.9 bar.

I guess there are 2 conversations here. 1) what the boost gauge shows and, 2) what the actual boost presure is. Even stock turbos that run "0.7" bar will regularly exceed this due to changes in atmospheric conditions.

John were in the manual does it state .88 bar? I was going off the TSB for gage reading which as we all know doesn't read above .7 bar. The springs are not as accurate as one might expect. So I guess the range can vary considerably but a full .1 bar is a fair amount.

Sameer, When I first tested my car it was reading .8 bar. So They obviously vary considerably. The car is a much different animal with the 1.0 bar spring. I do know of some that say they were reading .88 or close with the factory spring. I would have to guess some cars came from the factory with a little more punch than others. Although my car was measuring 370 hp with no mods other than B&B headers. With the addition of the HF K27 and 1 bar spring it easily jumped to 430 with cats. I am assuming without the cats it should be closer to 450.

Anthony,
Thanks for the info. What are the stock cams on the 3.6 turbo? Are they the same on the 964 3.3 turbo?

Hi Anthony,

My mechanic gave me the Porsche Service Information Technik '93 service book [WKD 498 321] to read and it just happened to spend a bit of time on the photocopier so I have a copy in front of me now.

On page 2-14 it has a section titled checking values and reads 'Max boost pressure 0.88 bar (positive pressure)'. I don't claim it's correct, that's just what they wrote.

Sameer, the same book gives 964 part numbers for the camshafts.

Hi Guys, link to Joe's videos seem to be broken. Anyone know a working link....must see/listen to it.

Hi Sameer, how u doing. we met a couple of times in Singapore, thru Jeff I think or Andy. i drove the red and then midnite blue 964C4. Now live in Bangkok and just bought a 1991 964 turbo 3.3 yesterday. Will be selling the interim NSX that I had for a year before I found this turbo gem.
