Guys this is how much hes pushing out, phenomenal!

The power I was putting down was about 780 rwhp on the 9.7 pass. However, I can run another 8 to 10lbs of boost. I hate to speculate, but I feel confident that it'll be a fair share over 800. I know how people like to think it's some kind of black magic to find really big numbers, but it's really not that difficult with these motors if you find the right combination of components, ie turbos, heads, cams, intake, fuel system. It took plenty of experimenting, but the potential is there, no magic. I've working hard on a single turbo 3.5L with a DTA system. Had it on the dyno last night and it just blew me away with the power it made. I tuned it to a maximum of 17.5 lbs of boost on 93 oct pump fuel and it put down a staggering 623.6 rwhp, and it was heat soaked. If the charge temps had been cooler it would have been 640! The dyno's great but then it has to impress you on the street, so during the test drive at that boost it was just insane! The old 2v Porsche 911 turbo motor just has incredible potential and is so damn fun.

I have a Tiff Needell Top Gear report when they first thest drove the 1993/4 Turbo 3.6 (a peppermint green car - nice!) but don't know how to share it.

If anyone is interested let me know how.

What I'm really looking for, is the one where Tiff rides the 993 Turbo in Top Gear.
If anyone could share that test, I'd be very greatful.

Realise he says that the car does 0.9 bar of boost from the factory. Is he correct guys? I thought it was only the flachbau which came at 0.9 bar of boost.

Approved factory boost range for the 94 turbo is between .79 and .85 bar. The flachbaus are a bit higher. Thanks for the link.

I don't know if it downladed propely but it ends were he talks about the 94 getting a liilte squirly if you push it to hard. The expression on his face is priceless.

Anthony,
I got it on video tape where Tiff says at the begining that the 3.6 turbo comes from the factory at 0.9 bar of boost which is why I asked because this car is not a flashbau.

I guess nobodys perfect. Although he can throw a turbo around well enough. I will say I have never seen him look scared while driving before and he shore as hell looks a bit freaked coming through that chicane.

Just to further cloud the issue, the official turbo service manual states max. boost pressure @ 0.88 bar positive. That should be accurate, but Mr. detail wasn't working on this document as shown by a number of gaffs in it e.g. it mixes up the 3.3l data with the 3.6 for power specs
