My car recently had a running problem caused by a loose wire in the 'engine wiring loom'. It took a veteran P mechanic 5 hours to diagnose! (Luckily the part was cheap.)

I've had similar problems
Hi guys, had a similar problem with my 3.3 well had two similar problims ! first time was after intercooler refitment, car would drive fine then stop dead wouldn't re start etc, this turned out to be the wiring going to the sensors on the intercooler one had broken, then this year the car would run when cold but once it reached operating temp it died until the following day and i mean nothing would re start it there was no spark ! would you believe it, it was the rotor arm a simple often over looked piece of the ignition system, i've attached a pic mine was really bad and this was with a full service history !!!! i now do it my self !

Drifting
I hate it when that happens! When I owned my 3.6 I had this problem and went from one end of the car to the other.
In my case it was a loose connection. Check this anyway, you have nothing to lose.
Looking into the engine bay on the LHS...put your arm into the area at the back towards the rear shock. Not that far but the general direction. There are a couple of connectors there and one had actually come right off. I was told these often fail, they just get loose over the years.
Sorry for the poor description but they are there if you look.
Cheers
