Do you guys get this? Irritating!!
Heard from a friend few days back that some guy went upto my Porsche friends to create silly talk and somehow my name came up and he said "whats Sam doing with that old Porsche, he shld sell it or something". Now when my friend told me this the other day, it really pissed me off. Do any of you guys get this and how do you'll respond? By the way, the guy who passed the comment drives a Lambo Murcielago. One of the main reasons into going into the EFI conversion is to ask him for a race. I'm bloody pissed! I know you guys will be able to answer me best as we all share the same passion for our cars. I have been playing with cars for awhile now and most know me in Singapore(small market), so this comment did upset me.

Sam,
I would take your "old" Porsche over a Lambo any day!
I always wondered how the Lambo and Ferrari guys can see out of the windscreens in these italian cars. Especially, with all of the glare from their gold chains.

I agree with L8Apex on this one.
I have a real problem with the snobby attitude of most Ferrari and Lambo owners. The truth is they are usually threatened by Porsches, because they can match or better their performance with less maintenance issues for less money, so they usually attack whatever they can to belittle our cars. Particularly, I can't see the fascination with many of these cars with all the quirks and in some cases shoddy build quality. I find the Murcielago to be highly over rated especially for the asking price. I find some things appear almost shoddy add on, and poor quality parts. From what I hear they spend almost as much time in the mechanics garage as they do the owners.
I can't believe that they pop rivet the vin number on the dash to meet US requirements, it looks so cheap. Around hear the dealers rack up serious miles on every car using it for test-drives by who knows who. So if you buy it, what’s to say the previous speculators didn't abuse the engine and say no thanks.
Ebjoy your car, she is a time less beauty and can hold its own. Flashy styling and Italian heritage does not automaticly make the car better.

Quick story. A little off the subject but appropriate.
I was at Crystal Cove (car show) a few months ago. There were lots of Lambos and Ferraris & Porsches parked for display. A group of children were fasinated by the loud colors and extreme styling of the Italian cars. Each time they went to take a closer look each owner loudly said "DO NOT TOUCH or STAY AWAY!" The looks on the kids faces said it all "What an A HOLE". Well parked next to a Muricelago and a Modena was a silver Carrera GT owned by the late Ben Keaton. Ben heard the remarks made to some of these kids and "loudly" invited the kids over to sit in his Carrera GT. Each kid got a turn sitting in the car playing with the steering wheel and even kicking the tires. They absolutely loved it! The looks on the Lambo and Ferrari owners faces was helarious. They looked and felt 2 inches tall. One kid made a remark to his dad, "this car is cool (Carrera GT) I want one!" . Then he asked his dad why the owners of the "other" cars would not let him touch their cars? The dad responded "because if you touch them they might break". The kid asked why? Dad said "because they are not German!" Nough said! True story!!! I miss Ben.

Ha good story!
Yea its true (not to all owners of Foz and Lambs tho) there is something snobby owning one here.
In london they normally drive their Lambo Granadas in 1st gear all the way down the famous shopping 'slone ponys' (rich housewifes).. makes me laugh.

I don't think there can be anything more humiliating down to the bones to a Lambo or Modena owner than getting beaten by an "old" smoking and farting Porsche especially when his girlfriend is sitting next to him. Of course those 993TT and 996TT owners have the same problem too
