eyue, run the Castrol, however is it a synthetic blend.. All turbocharged engines should run synthetic!! Don't use the 0-40w

What is wrong with the 0W-40? I use the 15W-50 but Porsche is useing the 0W-40 in the Cayenne Turbo. Just curious why it is good for the CT and not the turbo?

Look the 996, the 996TT and all other newer watercooled Porsche engine are running vario-cam.. The oil is used like a hydrauilic pump, with servo to rotate the cams to ECU supplied timing values. On the 996 GT3, GT2 and 996TT you have 2 additional oil pumps that are driven off the cam to provide additional flow and pressure for the vario-cam.. It is designed to run on 0 and 5W oil. The air-cooled engines need viscosity and the 0 and 5W oils are to thin.. Accelerated wear to piston skirts, wrist pins and liners can occur.
