Default Tire pressure on track?

I`ve searched a lot in this forum about this topic, but havnt found what Im looking for.
I have 225/285 S03 PP on 18 inch rims on a 1991 3.3 Turbo. It normally has 2.5 bar on front, 3 rear. How much should I reduce the pressure to before driving like I stole it on the track?

Thanks
Henning

I would go ~2psi over stock pressures with street tires. For my MPSCs, I normally start at 27 front, 26 rear, though on a hot day I may start even lower. My target is 33 all the way around for MPSCs.

Last time I was on the track. I did not put more than 30 psi ( front and rear ) when hot. I also have the SO3 on mine. Bring a good pressure gauge and check tire pressure after a few laps. Last time I had 32psi in front and 36 psi in rear, after 3 laps, my rear pressure jumps to 48 psi !!!!

Most important, don't run with too low pressure on street tyres, it will ruin them.
Only problem with too high pressure is that the tyres get slippery when really hot.
When I was running on street tyres I was aiming at 2.7 and 3.0 hot.

If the car doesn't feel stable get some more air in or you will ruin the tyre walls (not sure I am using the proper english word here). Biggest problem with street tyres is heat, they don't last more than 5-10 minutes driving before they need to cool down.

Max 10 mins sounds kind of dull, Im better off with R rated tires then?
Eyue when you`re driving on a track you only drive for 10 min intervalls?
I`ve talked to many people who drive more than 10 min with street tires, even S03....

I run s03s on my 993. Aim for 40 psi HOT. I start at around 32 psi fr and 34 psi rear and that ends up near 40 fr and rr when hot.

Assuming you are a novice, you will be fine with street tires for many events. You'll know when you are capable of over-driving the tires.

I am a novice yes. I am going to participate in at least five track events this year, so so next season I`ll hopefully be a bit wiser.

Thanks for all the advices.
