Default PCA Club Race @ Watkins Glen and 964 Turbos

38D and I will post some video and other stuff from this past weekend's PCA Club Race at Watkins Glen, but I thought I'd share this pic to whet your appetite for some good C2 Turbo racing stories!

Here's the start of the Group 3 Sprint Race. Can you find Tubbo? (hint: look for the car with the little wing!)

Dr,

Very nice! I always enjoy these photos. How did you an 38D finish (1st & 2nd I hope!!!)

By the way I met Tubbo's previous owner last week. Very nice guy (Ricardo) he is the parts manager at Newport Porsche in CA. When I told him the car is in NJ (he frowned ) and raced often (he smiled) and said that is what this car was made to do.

Can't wait for the video. (minus music except for the exhaust notes!! )

I won C class, 38D was 3rd in D.

I co-drove his car for the enduro but we don't know how we placed yet. There was a wreck that resulted in the race being black flagged before many had pitted for their mandatory 5 minute stop. It was confusing, therefore, how the standings were going to be sorted out.

Cool on meeting Ricardo. The car is running well!

Video forthcoming, perhaps until next weekend. It might take me that long to choose an appropriate song...

First video. Nothing fancy yet, but here are the three practice starts followed by the fun race from Friday. I beat the GT3 when in counted...

Tubbo Practice Starts

Note that I've encoded this in the new H.264 codec and you will want to use the new version of QuickTime to view it. Find it here:

Thanks. Cannot install the update at work I will check the video out tomorrow (Gokart race this evening).

Did you need to do some body work to fit the 295s ? I need wider rubber (225/265s now)

No body work, just the right offset wheels. For the 295s you need ET65 with a spacer (13mm I think...it's actually an adapter). 285s fit on stock 3.6t wheels.

When I put 285 MPSCs on my stock wheels I had to add 1/4" spacers as the tires rubbed the trailer arm.

Music video style:

GTC Turbos

(high quality, H.264 encoded, 43MB, requires QuickTime 7*)

Here's a lower bandwidth Quicktime version that will run on QT6. Quality is less than the link above (~10MB):

GTC Turbos

*Find the new Quicktime versions here:
Mac: QT 7
Windows: QT 7 Preview
