Bill are you looking for a driver for yourself.. Make sure that you do a leakdown. Buy a set of plugs if you are halfway interested in it. $35K-40K for a clean car. What I have noticed recently, is that many people are asking very high numbers, but the cars have been sitting awhile. It is a buyers market.
Thanks for the info Kevin. yes, I am snooping around for a fun street car. "0" track. Love the widebody look of the late 80's early 90's 911. They are asking $49 for this car.
$49 is a bit high but if it is one of the 20 92 S's you don't have many to chose from. Make sure you check with PCNA to verify if it is an actual S. Many copys out there.
It has been discussed so you may want to check for the exact mods.
AFAIK it consisted of different cams, turbo and higher boost along with some other changes internally made by Andial. It also had additional oil cooling and produced 381bhp vs the stock 320bhp. Suspension remained the same as stock.
380hp! yikes, lets get that beauty down to 2100#! Just kidding. Thanks for the info Anthony. I will check the archives so I know a little more about what I am looking at.
Over and above what Anthony said, it was lightweight, had aluminum doors, weight 2844 lbs vs 3239 lbs. My sources quote 80 units made worldwide. I don't know much about the US version. But these are very rare cars. I am surprised at price that Kevin and Anthony are mentioning as I have not seen an original one in good condition below $75K yet. It came with 18" wheels and 235 and 265 tires from the factory. Sticker price was around $80k more than the normal turbo the same year.
This does not appear to be one of the Andial conversions known as an S2. The vehicle Bill is looking at is supposably a 3.6 Liter, standard C2T wheels (dealer says 16"), standard C2T brakes and it looks just like a 1992 made-for-US C2 Turbo. This looks nothing like the car Jean links to. I thought we established in an earlier thread, that there was no Turbo S imported to the US until 1994.
Well I was pretty excited about the info in the search and posted here so I stuffed a check in my pocket and rushed over to the dealer. The car has 17" wheels, (skinny tires 205 up front) and the doors got to be 80# each. (after going from 993US to RS to CF doors I know the diff) this car is no S in spite of the "certificate". Problem now is I am obsessed with finding a real deal 2800# very good looking 380hp car to drive to P car events and fun stuff. This car also had a sun roof which judging from the 993RS I doubt a 2800# 964 would have.
Thanks for all the input. Anyone have a white or black S car for sale? Europe is OK.
