69COU,
the K27HF turbos spooly all the way upto redline while still holding at 1 bar, not forgetting flows more air. Together with headers and a 1 bar spring , big difference.

GHLs also crack (ask me how I know). I would suggest a set of custom made inconel headers.

Sameer,
Would the car not need some extra fuel for safety purpose ?

inconel headers
Colin:
Did you do this? Which Inconel did you use?

That is definately the solution to high temperature failure, albiet an expensive one.

Now, I wonder if the rear blowers (discussed in a separate thread) provide enough cooling to avoid the temperatures that lead to fatigue and failure of the SS.

Not yet, but it's what I will do when I replace the GHLs (my cracks are in the heater boxes...not doing any harm, but I had to disconnect the heat). This is the solution that Dan Jacobs recomended.

Yasir,
deffinetely with the K27HF turbo you would need more fuel. Increase the CO to 3-4% and add a fuel enrichment from Andial or just modify your fuel distributor to flow more fuel and put it on the dyno just to make sure you get good air fuel ratio.

Colin,

Do you have a source for the inconnel material? I just got off of the phone with a friend and we were talking about building a set and using inconnel but he can't find a source for small runs of tubing.

Michael
I was going to try Burns Stainless. No idea what their pricing is.

Guys,
Dont you think we should do something on our headers always cracking from GHL or B&B? It's not that we paid little for it, althought they are cheaper than the Marco Manzie or Holcombe stuff but we still paid a good amount of dollars for it. I hear so many of your headers cracking.

Colin,

Thanks, that's who we've been talking to. They don't have what we were looking for. I'll try back just incase.

For the street, they are fine. For heavy track/racing use, they will crack. It's the material, not the construction. Since no one makes an off the shelf inconel set, it'll be hard to argue with 'em.
