Default 1 Bar spring only showing .8 Bar....

Well, I guess it's never easy with Porsches...
The shop called me earlier and told me that the original spring was showing about .8 bar (Cobalt, you were right as to the amount of variability!), and when they installed the 1 bar, it's still showing .8 bar.

So, they are going to get another 1 bar spring tomorrow and try that ( on the off chance the problem is with the new spring). If that doesn't do it, then it's time for them to try to hunt down a leak. That'll be fun...

How are they determining that it's only 0.8? Dyno?

What shop are you using, Shawn? (I ask because I see you're in NJ, too)

Not sure how their testing it, but I doubt it's on the dyno...

I go to Powertech. Actually Charlie, I think I've seen your car there once or twice in the past...

Porsche on board digital boost gauge can not read over 0.8 bar.

Actually, it doesn't read more than .7 bar on the digital boost gauge, but they were measuring using an external gauge.

Ups, 0.7 bar that is right. Thank you for correction.
External gauge - Ok, I missed that.

Should be using a boost gauge running off of the intercooler.

I've seen 0.8 on my friend's 91 c2 turbo! I was very surprise and couldn't believe it. We tested several times and sure it showed 0.8. Can anyone explain?

Which gauge read 0.7? The one in the tach? If it's the original tach, it will only go to 0.7 bar. If it has been replaced with a 993tt tach, then it can read up to 0.8.
