Default Source for tach signal

Hi
I need the tach signal for a data logging unit.
I heard you are supposed to find it under the drivers seat.
Does anyone know where to find it ?

For future reference:
I found the tach source under the drivers seat, it's inside a contact with 6 wires, this contact is to the left of the ECU. The wire is black/green.

Is your data logger a Dl90 or Dl1?
What RPM input did you put it in?

It's a unit from www.zeitronix.com
Logging
- boost
- EGT (soon)
- RPM
- AFR

Fantastic unit, my AFR is just where I want it.
When I got the AFR where I wanted it the clutch started to slip, a clear indication I got more hp

How did you know the voltage range for your rpm input?
TIA

You can also tap the line at the EZ control in the rear or the same black wire at the speedo cluster.

Not sure I understand. I want a voltage signal that shows rpm for my DL90 in a 964 cup (old model) and though I have the list of all connections, I'm worried that the signal will be more than 5V which would fry my DL 90.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
THX
