ecu.de replied with a YES we can fix it, but only if shipped from and back to a german address.

> Fritz, might you be willing to receive the unit and send back? Will of course cover all costs etc.? And send a good bottle of something your way...
Dear Mr. Walker,
Thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately, we're unable to offer our services for the US and Canadian market due to insurance and customs issues.

On the other hand, if you have the possibility to send us your defective unit from an invoice / delivery address in Germany or in another country of the EU, you are welcome to do so! Obviously, in this case, we have to ship back the tested / repaired unit to this address, too.

We really regret that and thank you for your comprehension!

Hi Wicks, of course I can take care of the shipping. If the package is sent from private to private, there should also be no problems with customs. However, 4 -5 additional days should be calculated for domestic shipping.

If the option should come to fruition give me a PM so we can exchange addresses.

Fritz

Lovely will do Fritz and a great thanks that's very kind. Rusnak have come up with a first try option, Steve Wong here in LA (911chips) wants to see if he can fix it. So we'll try that quickly and if he's not successful I will send to you...

I got the same response from ECU.de. At the time they told me the cars registration had to be outside the US. Let us know how it works out. I do know that the BX suffixed units sold by Porsche was an attempt to sell refurbished units but they all failed within the 2 year warranty and they gave up.

Not for the 3.6 but any 3.3 owners looking?

Interesting. Maybe I could grab one as backup/emergency unit. Would you take picture of it? So I can see the P/Ns etc?

Something like here e.g. for little money. The advantage is that they have the same connector coding. I would be reluctant to use them because of different ignition mappings .

The input signals for the engine and charge air temperature are also different.

I would be careful. There are many of these from that period but the units we need are specific to our cars. That is specific to a 5 cyl engine.

I had some MB units with different connectors I had from Brumos racing for their 964T race car number 58. They had a special chipset which i don't know what changes they made but required modifications to the wiring to make them work at all.

I have my 2 spares. I am happy I picked this stuff up years ago when people were tossing them out.

Nope, Mercedes E260/E300 are inline-six, it is also "6 cyl." written on the casing.

You are correct I was thinking of my fathers 300E and it was an inline 6 as well. Just been a while.

Curious if Peter will show what is/was working in his car... also how many of us have done the additional ground wire for the EZ69?
