Makes sense that you just blasted it otherwise you’d have to take it apart. Is it worth applying something to the fins (high heat paint maybe ?) to stop the corrosion ?

With the exception of the exhaust system that I already mentioned that I went to aftermarket to get a little noise/power, everything else I am 100% stock as new. Hence, I left the waste gate alone. Putting paint on there would be a peeling proposition I think? If that rusty part really bothers you, I would suggest removing the whole thing and put it on the shelf and get a new/sexy Tial or other version, maybe raise the boost a tenth?

My waste gate was a mess inside at 38k miles. i replaced the diaphragm in 2000 that still looks new. The Valve guide has play in it.
I've always ran a stock Wastegate cat with headers. I prefer the waste gate to be smooth. Is that Tial Waste gate worth the upgrade?
