This, not surprisingly, has taken far longer than I imagined!

So far, the additional work has included:

Blasting and painting the valve covers



Fitting new oil return tubes


Replacement valve cover gaskets and fitting hardware (temporarily replaced until valve clearances are checked)


Refitting crankshaft pulley and new fan belt


Fitting new RS type engine mounts


I'm also on with filing down the mounting flanges of the GSF headers where they have been blowing slightly, as I found them all slightly out of true. Hopefully with them machined down to the same height and new sealing rings will stop the leaks around the ports:


Also fitted a replacement diaphragm and fastening hardware to the wastegate, and a 1bar spring.

Still lots to do - remount the engine cradle, fit exhausts, cut new heater hoses to required length, all new fastener hardware etc. Also considering having an additional O2 sensor boss welded into my fabspeed decat in case I want to fit a wideband monitor at some point.
