Default Big overhaul in progress ...

I haven't visited the board for some time and would like to give you an update (and apologize to those who have sent me private messages on various stuff).
After many years of all-weather driving, Bellatrix needed some TLC and much more. After a track day last autumn, we started a complete rebuilding of all those parts which are usually not visible. Everything related to suspensions, fuel lines, brakes, manifolds, exhausts, heath exchangers, shocks, every single bolt and screw in the underbody is going to be removed, renewed or replaced with original parts.

Works is progressing and I hope to have her ready for summer.

On spare parts only we are approaching 20k € excluding VAT. The bill will be heavy and Madam will not be happy, but it's worth it.

More gremlins coming ...

Amazing how everything can be shot. Mine has 38,000 miles and replacing everything also. But my wastegate looks new compared to the one in the photo. I have 2 like new exhaust.

Indeed ... heat exchangers are also pretty good on mine and headers not so bad ... different metal quality?

BREAKING NEWS!
Bellatrix is almost ready after long refurbishment. Only the chassis geometry is missing. Wheel pressure adjustment on scales and new tires, which will be in stock next week.
Looking fwd to drive her again after Le Mans Classic.

So, test driven the car today, we had lots of parts replaced (total bill in parts only 20k € + VAT) or refurbished, plus 265 man-hours work. New Yoko tires; it is now corner balanced (80 kg driver, as I am) and it feels fabulous. There are still a few tweaks to be fine-tuned; I left her at the workshop for some more days. I am very happy with the quality of work done.

Done by a specialist in the Czech Republic ... the yellowish thing is just protective wax, applied more or less the same way the factory used to do back in the days ... the piece without wax looks like that:

Refurbished front suspension before application of protective wax coating ...

So, back home ... car is now corner balanced for my weight and with new set of tires ... driven about 100 km on heavy rain, conservative speed, max 180 km/h.
I am superhappy.

Hi Max, thanks for your efforts, i appreciate that! The Motip Wax looks like the the original stuff used in Zuffenhausen and it should be available over here.
Cheers, Fritz
