PDK in 964

Do you mean a 964 Turbo with PDK?
The regular 964's were available with PDK, but not the RS nor the Turbo, to my knowledge.
Since I have discovered the 964 America GS, I'm convinced that a Turbo PDK can be done

I did not thought that someone could be brave enough to think to install a PDK into a 964. This is too much a crazy idea for my brain.
I'm sure that Porsche tested the PDK during the 80's on many cars (962, 944 Turbo, Audi Quattro S1 by example) but never heard of a 964 with PDK.

Bob's one off America GS had a racing Tiptronic transmission. It had to be manually shifted or it would just readline. I couldn't imagine why anyone would want a PDK unless they need to win a race.

PDK is great if you need to be the fastest around a track and is an amazing modernization of the automatic or tiptronic but the allure of these analog cars is the manual transmission and the interaction between the car, driver and the road. I appreciate the PDK for what it is but I have no interest in ever owning a modern car with one. Might as well go fully EV and be even faster because the only reason for the PDK is to reduce shift times. It has its fun factor but gets a bit boring just mashing a pedal all the time IMO. Anyone can do that and say they are fast but add the complexity of the manual and IMO that's where the fun begins.

So tell me why can't you have fun and have a more involved experience instead of just playing a video game?
I have more fun driving my 964 **** Box with half the HP than most cars on track these days and although my lap times are slower I am usually faster in the turns. The modern cars with all their nannies has convinced so many that they are good drivers without them realising how dangerous they are.
I have driven the newer cars on track and I am faster but have much more fun driving this. It is raw and exciting and bites you when you screw up instead of saving your ****.
This is my sons car and he is lightning quick in it. A manual and he would have it no other way. Even he would prefer to drive my 964 but my wife drives it with me. He hopes to enjoy it soon on track and would take my turbo over any car porsche has ever produced and yes it is a manual.
If PDk was so perfect why is Porsche introducing cars like the new club coupe which is a turbo with a manual for the first time in how many decades?
Look at all the articles in car and driver and other magazines these days. "Driver of GT40 crashes because he wasn't used to a manual" Seriously!!!. Learn how to drive and not just drive fast.

PDK is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module. You would need a device and canbus to emulate that hardware, then you would need to calibrate it. The scope of the job is beyond the casual hobbyist. I know people who could do it but you have to ask yourself, why bother. Buy a 991 and enjoy if that's your thing.
