Best tires

I think I am going to wait a bit longer to replace mine. I have other areas I can spend $$$, and we're entering those 2 months of the summer here, where the heat & humidity is a lot to handle. My R134a is no longer blowing super cold (it's been 4 yrs since I converted)

If you are planning on driving the car hard most definitely. Porsche recommends a max of 6 years and I would not trust 8 year old tires at the speeds these cars can achieve. The last set of PS2's I had I used for 8 years and when I took them off they looked like new so I mounted them on a spare set of wheels as rollers. You could feel how unstable they were prior to removing, the belts were moving and when mounted on the spare set they formed bubbles in the sidewalls.

Any new news from you guys on the new Bridgestone Sport tires (talked about in above posts) for here in the US??
my dealer cannot find them. Maybe they are ONLY released in Europe & not available in the US?
Is this the tire??

well, after more research & discussion with my parts dept mgr,... it does appear that the new Bridgestone Potenza "Sport" tire is indeed on the market here in the US now.
But after more deliberation and consideration, I am not as impressed as I thought I would be. In the end, for all 4 new tires, it will not be such a huge savings over the Michelin PS 4S.
From a price perspective,I can get a "N" spec rated Michelin PS4S for not much more than the non-Porsche-rated Bridge Sport. And the tread design, the reviews, make me want to not take a chance on it.
UPDATE / CORRECTION: PS4S is not available in N spec - not any of the sizes
Plus, even if I wanted to go back to the same Bridgestone Potenza S0-4 that I have on my car now, I COULD NOT. They have started to discontinue a LOT of sizes for that tire, and my sizes are now gone (specifically the 285/30 in rear).
AND, to push me even further in the direction of the M PS4S, the new Bridgestone Potenza Sport is also not available in ANY size with a /30. ... not a 285/30, nor a 275/30, ... not even a 265/30. So I would need to switch to a 275/35 which increases the height of the tire, and decreases the width!!!
anyway,.... since no one else chimed in here on my post above from a few days ago,... I thought I would report back out.

Now that I've put some miles on my PS4S, I can say that I really like them. Aside from needing a new full set of rims just to run the SAME size tire I have been running for the past 2 decades,... they are great.
(all of those details, I outlined in that separate thread... https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...re-sizing.html )
I am now also even considering switching to them on my 997.2 GT3. I like the thicker tread depths, 300 tread wear, better wet traction, and similar street stickiness that I've had with my Cup2's that almost never get up to temperature on the street driving that I do.

ahhh ok. Lol. no worries.
but since you opened the thread back up,... I will re-state (from above), that EVEN tho Tire Rack does not show the PS4S in a 285/30-18, & they only show a 285/35... the 285/30 does actually exist (Michelin does produce it).
I was able to get the 285/30 thru my dealer, and at a competitive price to Tire Rack. Just have to ask. (they make their money on the mount & balance anyway)
