Question Clutch engage/release point question

Hello fellow 964 T owners,
I have a question regarding my 3.6’s clutch setting. The engage/release point is relatively high. The position of the clutch is fine but the clutch does not grab until I am off 30% the floor means there is 30% foot travel for nothing. Once the clutch is engaged it worked great, no slipping. Is this normal or do I need to worry about getting a new clutch? Is there any way I can test clutch wear myself?
Thanks in advance.
Rich
