Is there any difficulty in adjusting the rear shocks? I was talking to a 993 TT owner yesterday who said he would have to remove his intercooler to get to the adjuster on his KW's.

When I installed mine (albeit my engine/tranny were out of the car, so it was a lot easier to install & setup),... I decided to take a page out of my local Porsche race teams book, and modified the top rebound adjustment allen key.

KW gives you this nice little purple dial with allen key at the bottom, which is used for both front & rear rebound adjustments at the top of the shock (pic below). Obviously the fronts are super easy to access & use that purple key without potential risk of dropping it from your finger tips.

But the rear shock towers are indeed buried in the back of our engine bay. So what I did was find two allen keys from my vast stash of extras,... and I cut them down so they were about 1/2" on each length. Then I took some 3M weather-stripping adhesive and put a dab on the end to be inserted into the top adjustment. They are now there permanently, and have made it SUPER easy to reach back there & make adjustments. A full 360 degree turn of the allen key = 6 clicks. It is now very easy to adjust it without even using your eyes.

While I'm writing here today, I might as well also give my impressions too. When I first installed them, I put all the rebound & compression settings up to FULL hard. I drove it for about 50 miles are so,... then I backed them all down to full soft & drove for another 20 or so. Wow what a difference between the two extreme settings. Full soft is very soft, and full hard was harder than my 997.2 GT3. Then, the positions that I am at now, is dead middle for all rebound & compression. Now I will drive the car this way till the Spring, and then decide how much rebound &/or compression I will adjust in either direction. If anyone has notes from their own KW install, I would love to hear where you finally landed. This middle setting (on both) is very compliant. I love it so far,... and clearly I am going to need a lot more miles to decide the next set of micro adjustments.

Oh,... and one last thing,... which was odd. My local raceteam / engine builder told me to double check (BEFORE I installed them) and COUNT the maximum number of clicks KW gives for both rebound and compression. Sure enough, KW tells you in the Settings book that the rebound has a total of 16 clicks range, and compression has total 12 clicks of range. Not true. They knew it, but wanted me to see for myself. KW gives a total of 21 clicks of rebound, and 16 clicks of compression. Crazy eh?. ... Always keep every notation of initial settings, & adjustments along the way, in my log book.

Anyway,... Hope that helps answer your question Paul, & with even more insight....

No. Absolutely not. We do not need to remove our intercoolers to get a adult arm into the back engine bay, and reach the adjustment allen key at the top of the shocks.

..... maybe on 993 Turbo's, it is more tight. But I have NO problem reaching back in there on both sides.

Guys, what settings do you recommend for sporty street cornering? Where can I find information about the minimum height allowed? Thanks K

Slow to respond - man I haven't been on Rennlist in months!

Settings. I run the KW recommended compression (bump) setting and one click stiffer on rebound. If I were always driving on better roads I would go one click stiffer on compression. Each click is noticeable.
Their recommended setting is a good starting point - then make 1 click adjustments depending on how you drive, the feel you like, and the quality of the pavement.

I just installed the KW V3 setup in a 993TT. I hate to say I am not as impressed as others and seem to have different opinion. Not a bad suspension but for not much more my MCS 2WNR is light years ahead in most every respect. Far easier to adjust without having to count rotation of the clicks with both compression and rebound adjusted from the top of the strut/shock with no need to insert a tool, so easier to adjust on the fly. ALso far more adjustability overall. I'm running far stiffer springs 400/500 but with the 225 pound tenders vs the KW's helpers it is much smoother over average roads although slightly more harsh over really bad roads but minimally. In the turns no comparison MCS will just walk away.

PSS-10 and KWv3 are an upgrade over stock but MCS is just on a different level from anything off-the-shelf.
