Default Spoiler issue on 1989 C4

Car is a 1989 C4. Spoiler will raise at 45 mph as intended. However, it will not retract. Once it's up, it stays up. It will retract if I use the toggle switch under the spoiler. No grinding/sticking noises when retracted via the toggle switch.

Any thoughts on what this could be? I do believe the system is different on these early C4s. Based on what I've read, the micro switches are not the issue, but it could be the module under the dash? And I think there is a secondary module under the seat as well?

Thanks for any advice on how to narrow down the search.

Not sure I can offer much other than moral support. I am sure you've seen my recent thread on this issue but your root cause sounds different.

You manual control works and it sounds like you verified your micro-switches are ok.

Search is your friend as I believe there some threads showing the location of the control box on early C4 models.
