OMG, no sunroof! Nice find, a lot of good miles ahead with that beast.

absolutely beautiful car man - jealous of the sunroof delete. The paint looks like it is in pristine condition! Definitely post more pictures

lovely ... well found indeed. Mine is also black, has 118k kms and is also now sunroofless

Amazing the mounts are gone after only 18k miles although I guess they work to some degree even when the car is parked so the time is more important.

Wow that is priceless. This is only the second US spec 964 coupe other than an RSA that was delivered without a sunroof that I am aware of. The other is a 92 C2. That by itself makes it a rarity having only 18k original miles makes it one of a handful of very few in this mileage territory.

In some ways it is a shame they did a 3.8 and LWF but at the same time what is done is done and enjoy it. It is interesting that the other sunroof delete car is also getting a 3.8L.

Congrats

Beautiful car, nice driveway with bonus tomato plants! All those trees, awesome. Traveled to Scherburne NY for business once, night driving, 55 mph to 0 coz deer stopped on the road, stared me down ...

What is it with all the desires for a sunroof delete? Are all you guys 6'4" or taller?? Or need the extra room up there for your big noggins with helmets on??

I get that it's rare, and thus very collectible. Which makes this one very valuable,... but doesn't that sorta force Mike not to put miles on it?

I guess I'm sorta lost on that one,... cuz I love my sunroof & wouldn't enjoy mine without it.
Use it just about every time I take the car out for a drive!!

IMO it looks cleaner without. lighter. plus I never use sunroof. so prefer the car without it. so it's a plus for me.

To OP,
Nice pick up! so clean!

I am glad my suspicions are wrong. I was looking at the picture of the engine bay and I was surprised to see all the spot welds on the lower sheet metal section that goes across the lower bottom. I was thinking it might have had some rear end damage at one time. Looking at my 93 and 94 neither have them but I checked my 90 and all the pictures of the 90's I have worked on and low and behold there they are.

So another thing I learned about these is that they changed the tub at some time between 90 and 91 and made the lower piece from one piece of metal vs two spot welded together.

meanwhile another bump for a great buy.

Thanks guys. Responding to all in one reply;

I have paint meter reading pics from 21 locations on the car that the previous owner was sent when he bought it. They were one of the things that made me pay his price with no haggling.

I think the motor mounts gave up from sheer exasperation. "You mean your not gonna drive me! Well then..."

The 3.8 conversion is one factor that lets me tell myself "It's not the ultimate collector's car, so just relax and drive the thing."

It won't be a Safari. However if I keep my old one and Jeff Gamroth from Rothsport fabricates the right gear sets for the tranny and differential of a C4...

I have enjoyed the sunroof on my old C4. "Just another reason to keep it honey." Looking for local volunteers to participate in the intervention where we sit my wife down and tell her why I need to keep both C4s.

Nothing wrong with having two C4s, it makes it more likely to never be without a car

Beautiful example! 964s are really the best combo of old and new. Enjoy it!
