Default 964 Torque settings thread

The objective is to capture the torque settings for various fasteners on 964s in one place. Post a pic of the part and its torque setting.

Also post any special treatment e.g. Use of copper paste, loctite and/or angular setting.

I used the torque for a standard M6 bolt. Its 10Nm according to the website below. I use this table when ever the Porsche workshop manuals and spec books don't specify anything.

Thanks, I used a similar table but didn't see the dry/lubed difference. I'll edit the torque above.

Hi John,

FWIW,..Bentley Publishers offers a nifty 964 spec book that mirrors the long-discontinued Factory one. Its VERY handy and well worth the price, IMHO.

Hi Steve, yes it is good. I'm using that, the workshop manual, the Porsche training manual and various DIY to provide detail.

I'm not sure how much use this thread is, but it's easy to post with pics and there do seem to be a few that are hard to find otherwise so it may help someone.

Driver side (LHD) oil pressure relief valve - 60 Nm (Workshop manual). Piston smeared with assembly grease. NB this is the old washer. I replaced it with a conventional one.

Sump plug - 50 Nm. This is incorrect in the original workshop manual.

As an aside I note that the sump plug is 15mm whereas the oil pressure relief valve is 17mm. I wonder if Porsche did that to stop mechanics undoing the wrong bolt?

Cylinder air guide 10Nm. Must be installed with an aluminium washer to avoid corrosion.
