Bosch vrs Beru; worth the extra $$??
After chasing down some ignition problems, it seems like I need some new ignition parts, namely rotors and caps.
With some of the Bosch parts it seems as though the quality isn't the "clearly better" option that it used to be.
Are the Bosch parts worth the extra money?
Are the Beru that much more inferior?
Inquiring minds want to know!!

I replaced the Beru parts on my car with Bosch when doing a tune up and there is a difference. It's in the details. For instance the Bosch cap has lock washers to prevent the hold down screws from backing out. The Bosch rotors have thicker metal on the contacts. I felt it was worth it.

Do a search and you will find that the people in the know, like Steve Weiner and others, highly recommend using the Bosch ignition parts.
I got a set of Bosch caps and rotors on Amazon for a very good price.

Bosch direct part numbers. You can find them competitively priced. Amazon has them at good prices.
Distributor Rotor 1 234 332 200 (04216)
Distributor Cap 1 235 522 413 (03362)
I used these and the proper Beru wires, which are the spendy part of it all. The car certainly perked up.
Coils next !!
