Default 964 RS and RSR production details by VIN

As previously shared with you we are in the process of creating a series of new websites covering five additional rare, unique and low production Porsches as part of the www.rareporsches.com web series.

This week we are releasing production details by VIN for the 964 RS and 964 RSR.

Please follow these links to view the data by VIN.

As many of you may know the 964 RSR Silver/Red #107 that we offered for over two years is now coming up at RM auction Villa Erba. It will be interesting to see if they can sell the car for more than the $1.65m we were offering the car for. In my opinion the answer is they will not. Just about everyone who might be interested in the car at that price has been offered the car at that price. But we shall see.

Additional production data will be released over the next few weeks covering the following models:

993 RSR
993 GT2 'EVO' (gen II)
996 GT1

Thank you Mark, very interesting. You state that there were only 3 LHD 3.8 RS??
You must mean RHD.

Good, glad to help.
You also mention that there were only 2 Guards Red RSR's built. I had #95 in GR and knew of two others.
Maybe one or both were not red from the Factory but that would seem odd.
I guess we will have to wait for Barth's new book later this year to know for sure. He said he is going to list
them all.

Thanks again.
Mark

RSR's being race cars were often repainted from the original factory color so not odd at all.

This is the factory data so Barth's data will not be any different than this. What I have listed are the original factory colors. And I have listed them all ... so you wont get much out of Barth's book in this regard.

Good to know, thanks.
I am hoping his book will list which cars were produced in which color along with motor, gearbox, production number and options.
It sounds like you probably have this information also.

Yes we do. If you click on the individual VIN link you will see all that data on each car except for the options, which we have, but do not publish on any of our sites. What we do openly publish a car can generally be verified as authentic. The rest we keep as proprietary .. although in truth most dealers you would actually buy a car from have enough clout to get individual factory build sheets to verify the rest of it on a case by case basis.

... thanks again typo fixed!

Just curious, what is proprietary about an options list?
