Love all the points Cobalt mentioned. Especially the European market who don't mind paying over premium for a low mileage 964. Keep in mind everyone, if you were in the market for a pristine 964, you would ONLY want a pristine one from a reputable place like HOLT. Although you're spending more money, you have to factor in peace of mind when you're unloading that amount of cash.
With that said.
My 92 C2 Red is always available for a trade with a different color 92+ C2 =P

I agree with you however, correct me if I'm wrong Spyrex, but I don't think the buyer is looking for this car because he wants to drive it very much. To a "collector" milage absolutely matters.

Oh. Buyer found a car!!!
Also ran across a few others that while not cheap are in the ballpark of his asks. If anyone here is willing to spend close to 100k on a 964 c2 I have a few leads.

Glad to hear your friend found the car he wants. Is it the 91 or the 92?

I find this comical as I recall 10 years ago people would argue with me saying a 3.6T's with 15k miles would never see $100k and now we are talking C2's with 30k miles reaching those numbers. Now if I only could pick the winning lottery numbers. LOL

Its a 92 in slate grey, black interior, sub 50k miles, extremely clean, it is not fully stock, but has several factory mods like RS bits for the chassis and suspension.
Its a really nice car and will get driven.

I don't know anyone that 10 years ago that predicted air cooled Porsche's would have risen as much as they have value wise. I think we all expected prices to rise but not at the rate they have.

Porsches best friend is always time. Remember when a 914 was like 2k? They were popular when I was in high school as a higher end VW Bug alternative. They were all just "old cars" at one time.

I never purchased any car as an investment but I did focus on cars I knew would always be of interest. If it wasn't for issues I had back in 2010-2011 and I stopped following the market I would have purchased a bunch of these and just parked them in my yard and left them. I have a bunch of friends who I have met recently that were buying early long nose cars 10 years ago stripping them down and having the bodies coated in a heavy primer and then left them to sit outside for years. We are now begining the process of stripping them down and fixing them up. Some are being turned into outlaws and others are being fully restored to original.
There were a few of us I just wish I didn't turn my back on the market and followed my instincts. I didn't do too badly since most of my garage has increased in value by 500%.
