LOWER DASH DELETE

Thanks...just put it in but didn't realize there is a bunch of wires and things hanging down. My interior is black and the center support is now exposed and silver. I wanted to see what people were doing to clean it all up. Also the carpet above the kick panels is too short too.
Probably going to just paint the support and make some extensions to the kick panels and tie up the loose wire higher under the dash.

That center support comes out. It's a pain in the ***** though. As for wires, there were a few showing so I tucked them up and secured them with a zip tie. I also removed the bulb from the under dahs light as it was visible. As you can see my carpet doesn't go all the way up either. Haven't addressed that yet as it doesn't bother me too much. The only thing you can see now are the hvac vents. Not much you can do there other than delete heat/ac

Thinking if leaving the bracket in and just painting it black. Got a new carpet kit that comes with some strips for the bottom of each door. I have rs door cards so I may use those pieces to do something to fix the gap above the kick panels.

I'll post some pics tomorrow. When I had new carpet put in the upholstery guys fabricated a couple black pieces for me. There's also some black velvet that is the blackest substance on earth. It's great for hiding colored/metal objects

Not sure why photobucket not working. On a side not, i converted over to r 234 or whatever and had 2 new squirrel cages installed at the same time I deleted the lower dash. I notice a hissing sound now that i don't know if its from the ac work or if the lower dash muffled the sound. I eill be adding some fiberglass and mlv to quiet that down.
I am glad i did it as the lower dash is big and bulky for just a glovebox. Opens up the cabin. It takes a little work to clean up and hide wires, fabricate panels. I will be adding that velvet to really clean it up. I also removed the cover from heater because it hung down too low.

Streetdaddy- not see what to make of the hissing sound. I tore out a lot sound deadening but my hvac is no louder than it was. I do get a fair bit of fan/whistle type sounds l

Thanks for the pics. You did a nice job keeping yours high and tight.
Hoping to get my car together by the end of the year...this year...thought I would have been driving for a year already... nothing like a almost 12 month paint job ( don't use a drunk to paint your car) ......
