My first air cooled - Forest Green C4
Hello everyone,
My name is Joe and I have a problem. That problem rhymes with Porsche.
After starting my addiction with a Seal Gray 996 C2, I lusted for more power and traded it in for a black 996 Turbo. I added a 986 Boxster for sunny days, and that's when I realized I had a problem.
SO! I sold everything and picked up this '89 C4 in lovely Forest Green with a Cashmere interior.
The car has higher mileage (185k as of this writing) but has had some quality upgrades to keep it feeling young.
The car is my DD, and I will be doing some track days/autocross throughout the year.
Plans are to add a duck tail, get some sportier seats and that's about it. Just drive the snot out of it.
I don't post much, but Rennlist has been a HUGE help RE: research, DIYs, inspiration, etc...

We ALL have your problem ! I started with a 991 C4S , my 1st P car and that was just 1 yr ago. Already 964 has been added to the mix and when will it stop ?! 185k - that is awesome ! I love the fact that it's also your dd - with proper care ( and love) these cars are truly built to last. She's a real beauty. Congrats ! And welcome to the air cooled side.

Thanks, I may or may or may not have been having some fun in the snow...
I'm very happy with the stance/fitment, also. The fronts rub a bit at full lock, which I'll have to look in to. The rears fit great with the back mounted wheels. Getting rid of the spacers was a big bonus, too.
I love the the forest green because it's unique but still understated, and you don't see too many of them out there.

I use a 964 C2 as my daily as well. Making the daily commute in that is really gratifying.
What are the specs on those wheels and fit? My 18" 996 turbo twists rub slightly on full travel, so either need to adjust with spacers or stay with my 17" boxer twists winter setup.

I need to to dig into the fronts a bit to see exactly where they are rubbing as it drives me batty when they do. I also have jrz rs-1 coilovers on the car and the springs pop when turning at parking lot speeds. Need to investigate there, as well.
The fronts are 18x8 et50, the rears are 18x9.5 et55, however with the rear mounting reduced the offset by ~20mm, giving it an effective offset of et35.
Not only did it it get rid of the spacers, but I also like the larger lip on the wheel. Here are some pics for reference.
