Default Removing wood trim

Hi all,

I would like to know if anyone has any experience removing wood trim from the dash? I just purchased a '92 Roadster that came with this installed. While it doesn't look bad, my preference is for the stock dash.

Thanks!

-William

William, try and gently PRY it off to see how good it is stuck on there...if it's on there good, try running a hair dryer - carefully - as to heat up the pieces and the glue underneath, at that point, I'm sure the pieces should pull off fairly easily.

Then take "Goof-Off" or a similar product to wipe any glue residue off.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks! Today I went (very gently) with a dull chisel and slowly peeled all of it off. Took me about 30 minutes, but no damage to the dash underneath by either the adhesive or my fumbling around.

William: you are very lucky. Often these adhesives permanently disfigure the vinyl. I also hate the tacky look. Might as well get a neon surround to the license plate! Mabey some nice flame decals behind the front wheels. Makes it a regular chick magnet!!
