Default Problem after work done on car

I had a new oil sender replaced and a number of gaskets on top of the engine, etc. When I drove 10 miles home, I looked in engine compartment and the rubber gasket above the alternator had perished. Any ideas before I take it back?
Thanks

these are very common to get brittle and crack. After many years they just need to be replaced.

Possibility it could have been on its way out and they may have made it a bit worse.

I don't think they would have done it intentionally.

You can get them from your local dealer or pelican on the cheap.

I just replaced my "air guide" for the same reason. I bought from Sunset for a bit cheaper than PP - $62. I did have to do some Dremel trimming of tabs to get it to fit right as others on RL have posted about.

I had mine fail like that while on a road trip where I was driving in light rain. I figured the additional moisture in the air might have had an "afterburner" effect, increasing the thrust of the airflow being created by the cooling fan, increasing the stress on the old and tired rubber section of the duct.

Mine broke apart also on a recent trip. As said, they're not expensive and easy to replace.

+1 - easy to replace. If the heater blower is hard to connect to it, then you may need to adjust your bushings. Its outlined in Adrian's book. The 964 bushings are 6mm shorter than the 993. When I had mine replaced, the dealer used a 993 blower. This left a slight gap. By modifying the bushings my blower connects properly again.
