There is no room on the chassis for that engine-mounted tank.

As i have to drop engine to check gearbox, I would try to make a tank attached to engine ... to reduce length of those old hose running on rigth side and reduce possible source of leakage

No real benefict expected, but as I haven't still many project to upgrade the GT3, i "need" to modify something ;-)

That's wath I was affraid ... Chassis's arch holding the rear shock are too closed, even in deleting the steering pump and part of the engine cover ?

If it's me I put that tank up front. Along with a surge tank for the fuel tank/pumps.

Many consequences for doing such things on street cars that are not desirable.

Race cars are a totally different application and those would be appropriate where allows by the rules.

I've seen where 964s have been converted to use water-cooled motors and they're able to retain the motor-mounted oil tank when they install it with the modern motor.

The metamorphosis is slowly started !!
Steve is right, no room enough, but only 1 or 2 cm to clear ....
I got a 2011 tank at very low price on ebay, from a crached car

The low part didn't need to be cut, it's a mistake because of engine was on wrong level in car to check clearance ....

Using 0.6 mm stainless steel sheet, welding isn't a funny part

I believe Bob L is working on a front oil tank in CF. I wish he would sell some of the stuff they make for the America GS. He shared with me pictures and designs for a new CF racing fuel tank that uses the same 3 point scavenge design as the F1 tanks they make and designed. Unfortunately this is all I am allowed to share. The pictures would wow you. Maybe he will post on his thread soon.

Looks interesting. Seems like you have done a lot of work. Care to share?
