Where did the thread of a few days ago about bringing a 964 to Singer go?

Weird. Didn't see the bashing but not sure why you'd bash other than price. They are beautiful cars. I'd take their drivetrain any day for mine.

Bashing..lol. They are by far the most tasteful and well constructed 964 "reimagined" . I would have saved a lot of money buying one over building one from scratch. I have the bills to prove it. Like everything else not for everyone but nothing is.

They do a great job, but knowing their primary suppliers, one could do as great of a job themselves for a fraction of the cost if time wasn't a constraint. This is all ofcourse negating the custom bodywork that Singer excecutes so well.

Im not particularly a huge fan of the backdate look, but their interiors are to die for

Strange, I did not see any bashing. In any event, even if there were, why would a thread be removed? People criticize Porsche regularly and threads are not removed. Even if there had been bashing, which I did not see, is the right to have opinions (free speech) suspended for Singer or anyone else? And who makes these decisions? Is that person affiliated with Singer in any way? Truly seems strange.

As to suppliers, they advertise they use Ohlins and KW and those retail prices are readily available. Gearbox and front uprights are Porsche and those retail prices are available at any dealer. Prices of ERP components available from any of their distributors. Nothing secret here. So why remove the thread? Indeed, I suspect almost anyone could go through the Singer price list that has been published elsewhere and is public and delineate cost.

Finally, I think Singer makes a good product as does Ruf, Techart and other tuners. I do not, however believe that the fundamental right to discuss Singer, or any other tuner, should be suspended - and in this case, in particular, as there was no bashing.

And, p.s., I do like the 964 look of a 964 better than the Singer look of a 964 - and that's not bashing, that's my opinion to which I hope I have a clear right.

If OP wanted the thread to be deleted then most forums would comply.

Your logic is somewhat flawed though. For example, the ohlins singer is using isn't the 1 way kit that cost 4-5k. They are usually using 4 way adjustable ohlins, that cost ~ 4K per corner. Many similar examples throughout their builds.

First, I have now spoken with the person who started the thread and he has explained why he asked that it be deleted and, in fact, it had nothing to do with "bashing" as there was none.

Second, as the Singer Web Site states that the dampers are adjustable for "bump and rebound" I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, them to be 2-way. If, indeed, they are 4-way, the cost could be $4K per corner or more.

Third, for most people, while a 4-way damper is sexy, very few people are good at adjusting them so as to get maximum utilization.
