IS red a good color re-sale wise?

The spoke shape is off. Not clear from the pics, but I do not see the offset and wheel width markings next to the valve stems. And the wheel nut/bolt recesses are too close to the center cap vs a genuine Cup wheel. I would say they are Millie Miglia replicas.

Drive a few more examples of both models before making a decision. If you're intent on buying a "4" I'd recommend a 993. Have you posted a WTB here, on Pelican and PCA? I would be surprised if you don't receive several offers from these sources. FWIW that red car is worth about $42-45k as described.

The market has evolved over the past few years whereas color is less important than condition/price. There are just so few 964 manual coupes available. Back in the day when a buyer had a choice of colors such silver, blue, white, black and red, red was a tougher sell. At least this red car has black interior and not grey or tan.

Here's a genuine one:

And the same as in your pic:

See the difference? The spokes on the genuine one are of slightly different shape, slightly narrower. Also, in the replica the wheel nut/bolt holes touch the center cap while on the genuine one there is a small space between them. Also, the lip of the genuine rim has a smoother transition than on the (more angled) replicas.

My pleasure. I wouldn't have spotted that either when I was buying my 964

/\ there was some concern expressed for sure, and I am taking it into consideration in a big way. The guy I have been dealing with has been a straight shooter thus far. My main concerns at this point are price related. My next concern would be mechanical condition, and based on the feedback from the group i'd get a thorough PPi performed. May not get that far however if the price isn't right.

Too high for a C4 with obvious issues.
A well sorted low mileage '92-'94 C2 would be 60-65 and much more desirable.
Be patient, wait for THE right car. It's out there.

Dude, don't pay that much for a C4. You can do better or at least talk them down like 8-10 grand.

It's 2016. The reality is that these cars are @ 60 and headed higher.
