Widebody>993.

Then turbo the 3.6
People get too hung up on value. Build what you want and drive the ***** off it. That turbo body is the hotness.

What confuses me is why the drivetrain was removed. Recovered theft? It's not like a cab where it gets butchered to make a race car with the motor. I guess why doesn't matter. Good luck with the project.

Hey guys

I have a 25k budget for the engine, Then i could sell the NA 3.6 for 10K and I have 5k for RH 18 inch wheels and 5k for seats and other small bits like tail light exc...My 993 is worth about 40k plus the 35K , puts it at 75k, The question is, Will I be able to get that money back some day? for 25k i maybe able to buy a 965 engine or build 3.6NA engine into a 425HP turbo EFI, but I don't want lose money, she still needs to worth the money I put in her,

Would you buy a 965 with a none matching modified 3.6 efi turbo engine?

What I heard was that the 3.3 turbo engine was removed for a rebuild, then owner didn't have the money to finish the engine, Then the 965 was sold car to my bother less drive train, I believe the original turbo engine was sold by that person later on, At the time my brother had a 93 3.6 NA, and he was planning on turbo charging it , then my brother lost interest and didn't have the money for the build also, I'm gonna try to find the original motor, and see if the buyer is will to sell it and trade for the 3.6 NA engine

Unless you know where the original powertrain is and can acquire that, its something I would not do.
This... it is missing too many parts... engine, wheels, tranny??...

Can't lie to you... love the looks of the 965... but a 993 is such a nice drive...

I would buy a 965 with turbo 3.3

I would not want a 965 with an NA 3.6 that has been turbocharged

Funny, I didn't expect there to be two evenly sided camps on this issue. My take is that 993 cabs with over 100,000 miles are a dime a dozen and not what I would consider a desirable car. A 965.......or in this case for all intents and purposes a factory 964 C2 widebody is a desirable car. I think this car would fly off the lot at $40,000 where the 993 cab priced the same would likely sit awhile.

To someone like me who is playing with the idea of some day in the distant future converting my narrow body car to a widebody car, this would definitely fit the bill. I'm sure I'm not the only one in this camp considering a widebody conversion starts at $20,000.

Do the trade. I can't imagine you will ever regret it. Especially every time you approach the car from the rear looking at those wide hips!

Buy the 965 and be patient.
No offense but who cares about a 993 convertible that is auto.
Keep looking to iaai. Wait for it and eventually a 965 will come by that has been wrecked that you can use the engine and tranny from it. There was one few months ago that sold for about $40k. The rest you can part out and sell the 964 na engine. At the end you'll have your 965. The chase is half the fun.
Good luck

You'll be able to sell it although $75K may be wishful thinking, however crazier things have happened.
My $0.02... Forget a turbo engine and hotrod the 965... 3.8L FTW!

That rear window looks god awful on the 965. It's a big slab square piece of glass just hanging there. Gross.

Hey Guys

I'm looking to buy a 965 turbo engine complete with ECU and harness, for this soon to be mine 1992 965. Any info or leads would be a great help, or if you have and 3.3 965 engine and want to see it back in a proper home, this 965 deserves to be brought back to original, I would pay cash plus trade for the 3.6 NA engine that's installed in the car now.

Please PM me or email at heliolps2@yahoo.com

Thank you Kindly
Helio
