Smoked the rear tail lights and center panel to match the front turns and did the LED upgrade. Seems like a good safety upgrade.
I'm not so sure... and actually think it might be safer, as highlighted in your pictures. (you Lit up, the red brake lights have a strong contrast to the rest of the black light bar. Red brake lights on a red (pink) light bar, not so much. I contend that it's just as easy to see 92% (my vinyl wrap %) of a red light on a black background, then a small red light on a long red bar... who knows? Regardless, its a stunning option on dark colored 964s... the lights become hidden, until they "pop out" when on. Great feature on a car with so many other great features. Make it yours. lol...thanks..taking much longer than anticipated. Also needed to replace the dash pad...another $2k ( lesson: don't rely solely on a PPI and see every car you intend to buy no matter how far away it is).

+1 Most would quickly assume that smoking the tail lights would make the brake lights less visible.

fronts

here are the fronts with the LED's and smoked front turns. Also fitted a custom chin spoiler. Suspension needs to get corner balance but at least you can see it on the ground and off the rack.

Love the updates and especially the chin spoiler. Any more info on it?

Looks fantastic Marc! Love the chin spoiler as well!

David at TRE designed and fabricated the spoiler. I know he has a mold. If there is interest I can see if he is interested in producing some.

911Jetta, looks awesome with the tint.
Is anyone using a peel&stick type film (which I do not prefer), or the XPel type alcohol/water/soap type squeegee application type film? Good sources for film? I'd like to just darken up the pinkish tail light lens on my 964. Don't want to go dark like these pics, just turn them more from pink to red w/ a shade darker. Ideas? =Steve |
Looks great! The smoked lenses really show off the beautiful slate grey :burnout:

Not back yet...but closer

I didn't like how far out the FVD/MM exhaust tips extended past the bumper. I had a number of emails and conversations with Rhonda at FVD. Apparently they build these to order and decided to change the jig they use. The tips are only adjustable side to side and not front to back. FVD agreed to make me another set of tips and send them out. I had the first set jet coated to match the black on the balance of the car so was looking at sending the new set out once they arrived. However the new set were made too short and were scrapped. We sent the car out and had the tips modified to get the distance out from the bumper I wanted.
First pic is the BEFORE and the balance are the AFTER. |
Nice attention to detail.
Dave does really nice work, I have a TRE fiberglass hood on my car. |
great job..... the color is so different from artificial lighting to the sun. Love the grey!!!

Comes in wide and long strips... 2' X 6' (Red or smoke black: lots of sizes avail) http://www.metrorestyling.com/Smoke-...mktailfilm.htm
