Default Me and my Nine

It has been about a month now that I have owned my 1990 964 Targa C2. It has been a long time coming but I couldn't be happier. It has 80000 Kilometres on it and only 6000 Kms since 2009. I have been working through a number of relatively minor issues on the car since I bought it although the costs do add up quickly. I have fixed an airbag warning issue, replaced the motor mounts, rust at the base of the windshield and a cracked windshield will be dealt with next week(rest of the car is very solid). Targa top and seals will be refurbished and replaced next week too. Bought a T-OBD and Continental Stereo from BervillFX. Oil change and brake fluid flush have been performed. AC has been recharged and dye added. I should know in the summer where the leak is. Still have a minor fuel smell in the frunk, but I think I have found the issue and will deal with it soon. The information posted on Rennlist and DIY section has made working on the car very enjoyable and easy.

Here are a few pics. Buying a Porsche in the winter sucks...... Cant wait for summer!!

Your targa is a thing of beauty. If not for a lack of service history i would have purchased a white targa from windy city motors, however, with the values going up I am kicking myself for not! I am envious.

Thanks Cool Whip,

There is always that one that got away. There was practically no documentation with this one either. Very little had been done by the PO and he didn't ask for any of the documentation when he bought it. I didn't have much time to make a decision so I bought it without a PPI (I know, I know, risky). It has turned out to be a very solid car. Used but not abused. Just got lucky I guess.

The Porsche market is hot right now and sometimes you just have to buy. At least you know you have something that will likely never depreciate.

Thanks guys! Just dropped it off today to have the rust bubble at the base of the windshield repaired, rear bumper painted and new windshield installed. they are also putting the new targa seals in for me. She should look mint when I get her back in a week.

Hey Deadend,
A coupe is what I really wanted, but now that I have the targa, I like it a lot. At this point, I can see myself ADDING a coupe rather than switching the targa out.......... If I change my mind Ill let you know.
