I didn't know Polar Silver was a special order color in 1993.

I have a printed brochure someplace. I don't recall Speed Yellow being a special order color but part of the standard color palatte . Info I learned from someone who was selling these back in the 90's was that the metallic colors were all special order no cost option. However the dealership could not spec a car with these colors unless it was ordered by a customer with a signed contract. This is probably why so many are the standard colors.
The only way to pick a color was by the paper brochure which showed a 1" square of the color on paper surrounded by all the others. Many colors were not ordered because the swatch was impossible to tell what it would look like on a car this way.
My cars are all special order colors and I have the original bill and order forms from the first owners who ordered them vs buying inventory.

That's interesting about the colors. My Polar Silver C2 was purchased new by my dad in 1993 at Porsche of Tyson's Corner (formerly HBL). He went in looking for a black one, but they didn't have one. They had his car on the lot. He looked at it, then brought my mother back the next night and purchased the car. That's why I didn't think twice when he offered me the car. Happy I could keep it in the family and my sons get to enjoy a car their grandfather bought new. Based on what you said, I wonder if it was ordered by someone else then they backed out of the deal.
I wish I could find out how many were built in this color combo, Polar Silver with dark blue interior.
